Queen Lilibet of England – 63 years on and going strong !

Queen_Elizabeth_II_-_1953-Dress

What a day ! What a day today !

As the current Queen Elizabeth takes over the baton of longest serving monarchs of the Great Britain from their very own Queen Victoria, entire nation and world is rushing in to congratulate her. The media coverage is graced by her pictures, past, present and distant. Unsurprisingly, the media is abundant with heaps of praise, history connoisseurs are reveling her leadership and then, the ultimate parallel drawn between the two great women of the United Kingdom to ever rule the country. What a Marvelous day !

As much as I couldn’t content my happiness for her and the U.K., how I jump across time, continent and regions to land in Nepal constantly and helplessly………………….

1. Women make up just 20% of the Senate and 19% of Congress in the U.S.

2. Women account for only 5% of Fortune 500 CEOs.

3. The wage gap won’t close until 2058.

4. Five States received an “F” grade on women’s equality in the U.S.

5. Real change takes time..

Hailing from a remote village of Nepal, she was recruited to fight alongside Maoist insurgents of Nepal at a tender age of 14. However, her participation at last year’s event has shone a new light on her life and career.

There is not enough words to express my contempt for such an idiotic act. Women, girls or any human are not a commodity for exchange or trade. Real men have respect for women and girls regardless of your religion or race.
